This post compares some of the best tablets on Amazon (based on information gathered between 25/1/26 and 28/1/26).

*Product details such as prices, discounts, category rank, reviews, etc may change over time. Additionally, I will earn a commission from the links in this post, at no cost to you*

*All pros and cons are based on findings from real customer reviews*

*Review amounts, star percentages and customer reviews in this post are the total of all variations combined of the respective product*

The tablets are ranked using a weighted score model. Each criterion (e.g., price, review amount and star rating number) has a different weight % that totals to 100%. The final score determines the ranking, and the highest score is “the best” tablet. For this post, I have decided that review amount is the most significant and so have weighted it at 60%, Star rating number is 30% and Price is 10%.

The weighted score model has determined that the Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet is “the best” option. It is £149.99, has 4,958 customer reviews, a 4.5 star customer rating, 75% of reviews are 5 star and 4% are 1 star. Amazon says that this tablet has been bought over 1,000 times in the past month.

– Family-friendly with profiles and parental controls for kids
– Bluetooth support for keyboards, headphones, and speakers

Cons:
– Restricted app availability (Amazon Applestore only, no Google Play by default)
– Many popular apps not supported or difficult to install
– Amazon Fire OS is locked down (no custom launcher, limited customisation)
– Lock screen ads unless you pay extra to remove them
– Cameras are poor quality
– Sound quality and volume are average to quiet
– No wall plug included, only a charging cable

– Certain apps (social media, graphics, productivity) can lag or malfunction
– Compatibility issues with UK apps and work/security systems
– Existing Fire HD 10 cases may not fit newer models
– Battery and charging issues reported by some users over time

Overall, this tablet seems good for the most part. It’s got a great battery life, large HD screen, very large expandable storage on top of the decent 32GB storage it already has, and more. Alongside these advertised features, customers also commend this product on it being lightweight and easy to carry, that it’s very easy to set up even for non-tech-savvy people and that it’s got a solid build quality and feels durable. However, some customers have complaints about things like existing cases not fitting the newer model, or that their battery or charger have become problematic over time, that the camera and sound quality isn’t great, or that the tablet slows down with heavy multitasking or when multiple browser tabs are open (not sure what else you’d expect with 3GB of RAM).

In addition to this, something I would personally be turned away by is the fact the tablet has it’s own Operating System. Customers say that the FireOS can make it very difficult to download and use popular apps and there’s limited customisation on the tablet. This does not mean the tablet is bad, I’m saying that I prefer Microsoft and Android because I use certain apps that the Fire Tablets may not allow. Something else that might turn a few people away from this product is that it has ads, and you have to pay roughly £10 extra to get the tablet without ads.

Overall, this tablet seems pretty good. Unlike the previous Fire tablet, this tablet has a larger 11″ Full HD display, with 128GB of storage, 6GB of RAM, an Android operating system, and more. Furthermore, this tablet can hold an additional storage of up to 1TB. Customers commend this tablet for it’s great 10 hour battery life, its fast performance and good sound quality for media consumption, its solid build quality and lightweight design, its good compatibility with keyboards and accessories, and more. However, there’s some customer complaints such as, slow charging, no SIM support despite listing information, performance issues with heavy multitasking or gaming (obviously…), rare crashes, and more.

I personally like this product more than the previous, mainly because of its operating system, which is Android, rather than the FireOS, which means a lot more apps can be downloaded. Furthermore, this tablet has a lot more base storage and double the ram, which means it can handle more power-intensive programs.

Overall, this iPad/Tablet seems good. It has lots of storage, a large 11 inch display, great 10 hour battery life, and more. Customers commend this product for being very easy to set up, lightweight, premium build quality, having seamless Apple ecosystem integration, and more. Customers have expressed their dislike for the fact that the apple pencil is sold separately, and that the charging plug is not included with the iPad. Furthermore, there have been reports of occasional quality control issues.

I’d say that this product may be best for existing Apple users, or people wanting to start using Apple products. I personally don’t like Apple products, but that’s because I’ve been using Android and other operating systems for over a decade so it would be difficult for me to switch and be able to use their products easily.

I’ll admit, this product is a little pricey. I believe this is the cheapest variant. Below, I’ve included links to all other variants, should you wish to have better specifications, or a different colour iPad.

Overall, this product seems okay. Like previous products, it’s got a large screen, lots of storage that can be expanded upon, it’s lightweight and has a premium-feeling build, has 4GB of RAM that customers commend saying the tablet is good for everyday tasks, streaming and light gaming. Again, customers have complaints about limited app availability, heavy reliance on Amazon ecosystem, quiet speakers, software bugs and charging issues for some users, and more. This variant of the tablet does have ads, I will put a link below to the variant without ads.

My opinion about Amazon Fire Tablets remains the same. Although the tablet has good specifications, I personally don’t think I’d enjoy the FireOS because I’m used to other operating systems, and I like that I have a lot of apps available to me, but this does not mean the tablet is bad.

Overall, this tablet has a great 13 hour battery life, is lightweight and durable, is easy to setup, has up to 1TB of expandable storage. Customers have complained that the Amazon Appstore is very limited, that the FireOS is restrictive, that there’s lots of ads, and more.

I think this tablet is very basic, but it’s also quite cheap compared to all of the previous tablets. I think this tablet would be great for very basic and low performance work or games. Furthermore, this would be great for travel as its small, lightweight and durable, and it wouldn’t matter so much if it was lost or stolen as it’s inexpensive compared to most of the other tablets.

My final point is that over 2,000 people have bought the tablet in the past month and around 75% of reviewers gave it a 5 star rating, which suggests it’s a decent product.

Cons:
– Battery life is a common disappointment; many users report it draining within a day or even a few hours after heavier use
– Charger plug not included (USB-C cable only), which frustrates many buyers
– No Home button – adjustment required for long-term iPad users
– Battery performance often worse than older iPad Air or Pro models
– iPadOS updates (e.g. early iOS 26 versions) reported as buggy by some users
– Charging accessories can be expensive and sometimes unreliable
– Some users experienced faulty units on arrival (won’t power on/battery issues)
– Not a compelling upgrade for recent iPad Air owners
– Battery longevity concerns for a “portable” premium device

Overall, this iPad seems pretty good. It has lots of ram, lots of storage and a large display. Customers commend it for it’s fast M3 chip, its premium build quality, good cameras, easy setup and data transfer from older iPads, and more. Some customers have complained that the battery is not great as it drains within a day or even quicker if you are completing high-performance tasks.

I personally don’t understand this battery complaint, as its very normal for devices to drain quickly when you’re consistently and constantly using high-performance programs. I think this iPad is good on paper, it has high ram, a good chip and lots of storage. As I’ve said previously, I’m not too keen on Apple products, mostly because I am so used to Android. This product is also a lot of money, which is another reason I would be hesitant to buy it. However, along with the internal components of the iPad, its 5 star review percentage is one of the highest out of the products I’ve looked at in this post, and its 1 star review percentage is one of the lowest. Furthermore, the product has a 4.7 star rating.
